In an experiment, Im testing whether colours of cloth attract/repel insects to plants. Which plats shall i use?
I live in sydney, Australia in a normal suburb no where near the city, the ocean or river or antthing. I have a backyard

Most plants will be eaten by a variety of insects if given the chance, so it isn't too important what plants you use.
I would go to a nursery or the garden center at some store. They try to have plants with no insects, but insects have a way of getting around. If they happen to find an infested plant, they'll get rid of it, but maybe give you a piece. You can buy a few plants from them to use in your experiment to make them happy.
If that doesn't work, find a field full of weeds and look for aphids on the weeds. They are big enough to see easily if they are there. Take some home to experiment with.
Do yourself a favor and try not to let the bugs go free in your yard or garden. Try to keep them and the infected plants in some kind of sealed containers. Even when you throw them away, keep the bugs sealed up.
