FLASHING HEAD LITES SHOULD BE ON EMERGENCY VEHICLES ONLY?
Should flashing head lites be legal? When Im out driving my truck or on my scoot and see flashing lites I pull over like a good driver/rider should do, and its some bone head on a rice burner with flashing lites. Yes I know all little rice burner boyz out there the flashing gets everyone's attention, is that what you want? You want everyone to see what a monkey humpin a football looks like?
I think it's one of the dimmest ideas ever.
Since the late seventies, we have been required by law to have a headlight on.
Supposedly so THEY would see us.
Worked so well we've got to do it better it seems.
Yes, they are legal........but.
The legality is pretty much a technicality (here) - and not all states have the same laws.

To continue my argument....
Where we once had similarity to our vehicles (all lights the same, same location, etc...)
now we have a bunch of different flashing lights that NO car driver is going to understand.
If riders don't get it, drivers WON'T get it.
I've got a brake light that comes on when I use it - the same, every time.
So and so has one that flashes....and then flashes faster.... and faster.....and then it's on solid (finally we get to the signal that's understood - after confusing the guy who can rear end us).
And in the mirror is the flashing light. On every emergency vehicle (and most privately owned volunteer vehicles) is a similar set of lights that has ONLY ONE meaning - pull over.
