Can an officer apply for training in special forces in the US army?
I am going to be a college graduate and am looking to join the military. I am considering two options, one being entering OCS school and the other pursuing a ranger contract with the Army in hopes of training to be an army ranger. Nevertheless, despite the difficulty, I would like to try and enter special forces. My question is can an OCS school graduate then pursue a pathway to becoming a ranger? Is this even logical, ie. should I just pursue a ranger career from the get go? Thanks in advance.
on the contrary, to the first answer, the officer position needs to be filled. With the overwhelming of enlisted soldiers due to economy crisis, the officer position has many slots open. I say go for it. Esp special forces or rangers. Im not too sure how to answer your question though, because i dont really know. Talk to an officer recruiter
