Camping Lantern
I'm going camping on the beach. Any tips on how to make it go smoothly?
We have a tent, two Coleman stoves, lanterns, Sleeping Bags. We are staying at a campground on the beach (California). Thanks.
Pitch your tent on the lee side of the dunes. Shade is a BIG problem, so plan to be out of the tent during the heat of the day because you'll melt if you try to spend the afternoon in the tent. Bugs can be a real pain, especially sand fleas at night & skeeters too. Believe it or not, Raid Yard Gard sprayed into an empty tent will kill all the little creepys. Just bomb the tent, zip the screen up & let the gas work for 20min. or so. For skeeters, just stay on the ocean side of the dunes. They won't come out onto the beach. Around the tents after dark, just use a good repellant like Cutter Outdoors.
