Camping Stove & Gas BBQ. Can I use Butane or Propane?
We have been leant a Camping Stove that is recommended for use with Butance and has a 28mb Butane regulator fitted. We have also bought a gas BBQ which has a 37mb Propane reg fitted and instructions state for use with Propane only.
We only want to take one bottle with us and my question is will we be ok to change the regulator on the BBQ and use Butane? My Mother in Law has a Gas BBQ which takes Butane and understand that there isn't a huge difference between the gases other than Propane is better for winter use so it should be ok shouldn't it?
After reading and re-reading the box for the camping stove it states that it can be used with either Butane or Propane using the correct regulator so we will be taking propane thanks.
Incidentally our local gas supplier said all you need to do is change the regulator and the BBQ can be used with Butane instead of propane.
No, there are definite differences between the two fuels. They have different btu values and burn differently...pressures are different...They are not interchangeable nor are appliances convertible. Sorry, but you will need to pack both fuels along.
